South Africa has
11 national languages and many major businesses and
government organizations in the region need to manage
multilingual issues on a day to day basis.
Alivox is
working with a South African company to conduct an
evaluation project involving five major South African
languages. Alivox will use its ground breaking product
ALiS to perform identification on the speech of these
languages. The goal will be to identify these languages
in a multilingual call centre application, such that the
call can be routed to the appropriate language speaking
agent.
This exciting
novel application means the caller is communicating
effectively with a live agent (or automated solution) in
their own language, avoiding the confusing and
frustrating use of touch tone responses, in Real Time.
Alivox is
promoting ALiS worldwide, directly to multilingual call
centres and through their suppliers.
Alivox is also
talking to a number of other companies in South Africa
who are also interested in its language identification
solution ALiS for use in various other applications.
